The Senior Manager: Community, Education & Development reports directly to the Executive Head of Corporate Affairs and supports the other Executive Heads on community issues impacting the company.You will be responsible for the development of the community engagement strategy and plan including the Social and Labour strategies and plans (SLP). You will also be responsible for overseeing the development of systems, policies and procedures relating to community engagement and development and the functional management of operational engagement teams.
Who we're looking for
The successful incumbent must meet the following criteria:
• Social science degree or development studies related degree (post-graduate qualification highly preferred)
• Minimum 10 years management experience of with 5 in a complex/matrix businesses
• Working with SA government and traditional communities (advantage)
• Understanding and experience of community social dynamics
• Understanding and experience of local government dynamics
• Understanding of legal environment for community engagement and development
• Ability to communicate effectively with local communities
