Principal Specialist: Employee Relations

The position of Principal Specialist: Employee Relations based in Johannesburg will be responsible for implementing policies, frameworks and methodologies, driving functional performance through the implementation of strategic plans. The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Developing collective relationships with unions.
• Integrating with the Head of Employee Relations, Employee Relations Fraternity and other stakeholders to co-design, identify, co-ordinate and prioritise Formal Partnership based Employee Relations initiatives.
• Consult with the Head of Employee Relations to develop an annual operations plan in accordance with defined Employee Relations strategy, initiatives and priorities.
• Developing and maintaining an Employee Relations scorecard to report on delivery of the Employee Relations operations plan.
• Represents the Group in collective bargaining structures and forums, both internally and externally.
• Executes on collective agreements and collective bargaining requirements.
• Reports and analyses delivery of the tactical and operational delivery plans aligned to defined functional strategy, objectives and business requirements.
• Conducts annual internal and external benchmarking on Employee Relations matters so as to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Employee Relations.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• a relevant tertiary qualification
• a minimum of 12 years relevant experience andabove average understanding of labour relations
• negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• ability to deliver results
• ability to adapt and respond to change
• strong business acumen
• strong cultural awareness
