Successful candidates will be responsible for the Management and Support (performance, integrity and security) of all databases within the organization. You will also implement, design & improve processes relating to the administration of databases in order to ensure that they function correctly. You will ensure high availability of data to business and develop T-SQL Scripting and code in order to optimize and improve backend business processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administer SQL Server databases i.e. backups / integrity checks
• Performance monitoring - optimise databases - ensure databases run at optimum levels. Check locks on databases & correct where necessary or propose changes where relevant
• T-SQL Scripting and development on both new and existing business functions
• Job maintenance & scheduling - ensure jobs run successfully and troubleshoot job failures
• Replication administration
• Backup monitoring
• Optimisation of Databases
• Security maintenance of databases
• Query Stored Procedure and Script Optimization
• Maintenance of SQL Environment as per best practice standards

Who we're looking for
An analytical person with good problem solving ability. They should ideally have good verbal, listening & written communication skills. They will need to pay attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy.

Required education and experience:

• Matric
• MCDBA and/or MCTS (SQL Administration)
• 3+ years experience in SQL as DBA / 3+ years in IT
• SQL 2000/SQL 2005/SQL 2008
• Replication; DTS/SSIS packages
• Reporting Services
• Indexing/Performance monitoring/ Database Tuning
• Backup and Recovery
• Database Security
• SQL Job creation and scheduling
• Understanding of stored procedures and triggers
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
• Windows Server 2003/2008
• Strong Experience and Knowledge of T-SQL Scripting and must have SQL migration experience<BR>
