GUI Developer

Own the rapid development of GUI front ends in a Unix back-end environment, from specification through design, coding, debugging, and deployment;
Translate business requirements into solution design including high quality mock-ups with graphic elements;
Write design documentation;
Lead fast-paced GUI layout design reviews with developers, designers, project managers and other stakeholders;
Conduct peer reviews;
Make revisions as needed and requested;
Ensure that every coding path is unit tested and bug free;
Verify that GUI meets intent of original requirements;
Participate in full integration testing;
Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during deployment;
Take responsibility for software lifecycle management including version control and deployment package creation;
Demonstrate commitment to process and production and maintenance of accurate design and code documentation.
Who we're looking for
Bachelor degree in a computer science or engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
Minimum 5 years programming experience developing software and GUIs using Java, JavaScript, AJAX, MySQL, XML, HTML, XHTML and CSS;
Solid knowledge of a UNIX/Linux/Solaris development environment is required;
Basic graphic design skills including presentation, layout, composition, colour, and readability;
Demonstrated experience in designing, developing or managing user interface development standards for browser applications;
Strong ability to document, diagram and verbally describe the architecture, design, and test strategy of products;
Ability to design and implement GUIs using usability best practices;
Motivated self-starter who likes working as part of a productive, fast-paced team.
