The following is required:
• Manage the internal communication of business priorities, opportunities, issues and news for the Africa and Middle East Region.
• Responsible for proactively assessing communication needs of employees and country managers and making recommendations.
• Assess the needs and develop materials and/or leverage communication professional networks to address communication-related needs.
• Lead development and execution of public affairs strategy for the Africa and Middle East Region including support for issues management, issues training, biotech acceptance, emerging business opportunities including acquisitions, and media relations.
• Ensure communications alignment with external stakeholders as related to industry and government affairs.
• Develop and track methods and metrics for measuring effective communications that help ensure focus and impact.
• Identify emerging external issues and communications opportunities, respond to requests for information and represent company externally.
• Serve as a primary interface with the Africa and Middle East Region and the other communications professionals across the company.
• Counsel and provide development opportunities to communicators within business units in Africa and Middle East Region.
Who we're looking for
The following are required:
• Bachelors Degree
• 7- 10 years of communication experience preferred.
• Experience related to media, agency, or corporate/business experience essential.
• Proven project management skills required. Knowledge or experience in a science-related field preferred (or the aptitude to learn and apply this knowledge
