The Relationship Manager - International has the overall responsibility for managing the business in South Africa.
The focus initially will be on further developing the strategy and tactical execution plan in collaboration with colleagues. Although the operations in South Africa commenced in 2009, it is positioned to grow. Developing the model to ensure we extract the most value out of the considerable capabilities within the client and the unsurpassed brand recognition of the client is the key priority. Duties as follows:
• The RM will manage existing and develop new client relationships for the business.
• Focus areas may include government departments or agencies related to donor flows, foreign embassies with banking needs, and international organizations (Donor agencies grant and contract making or administering institutions, international and local NGOs, foundations, etc).
• The RM may be asked to also provide support for clients from the broader group as the business grows.
• The RM is responsible for senior level strategic relationships with clients, overseeing the execution of services to these clients and facilitating the internal team to ensure a partnership approach to the clients.
• The RM will ensure that we are cross selling as many products as possible.
• The RM will work with colleagues from within the business divisions to ensure all products are being sold and all client needs are being met.
• The RM is also responsible for ensuring that the bank is thorough in its follow up to leads and attentive to customer service.
• In addition to this, he/she will have to develop relationships and effective communication mechanisms with all other teams and the offshore directors, to ensure that we are providing a "pan-African" solution and service.
• With SA based NGO's being increasingly motivated and funded by international donor organizations to expand operations to the rest of Africa, it will be critical the SA role works as a conduit for developing business throughout Africa.
Who we're looking for

Experience:
• Approximately 5-10 years experience.
• Significant relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Banking, Government (Finance Ministry, Central Bank, Foreign Ministry, •Development Ministry or other International Development related function), or International Development (Donor, Implementing agency, NGO, Contractor, etc).
Business Knowledge:
• Experience working in the banking, government or development sectors is required.
• Ability to leverage relationships and sector knowledge to grow the business.
Strong presentation skills:
• Ability to clearly and convincingly pitch for business and articulate concepts and strategies internally.
Sales experience and expertise:
• This person must show a high level of interest in the political/economic/international development and global issues of the day, as this will enable him/her to engage effectively with clients.
