Reporting to the Group CFO - Nigeria with a strong dotted line to Commercial, Supply chain and Distribution Services Managing Directors, the Commercial Finance Director is a key role with overall accountability for the finance function. Participating with the senior team (s)he will provide appropriate financial input to the strategic development of the company.
The key aspects of the role will include:
- leading the commercial and supply chain finance functions to manage the financial affairs, systems and processes in accordance with Group accounting policies
- ensuring that efficient controls are in place across the Supply Chain and that key drivers of manufacturing performance (including variances) are fully understood and optimized, throughout the factories.
- managing overall profitability including analysis of key business drivers and ensuring that profit, working capital and cash commitments are met
- coordinating the 5 year strategy and annual budget and forecast and ensuring delivery times
- optimizing treasury management and cash forecasting
- guiding the management team in commercial decision-making / strategic planning.
Who we're looking for
For this strategic role, we are ideally looking for a Financial Executive with Professional Chartered Accountancy Qualification (ACA / CPA / CIMA) preferably trained in one of the internationally recognized accountancy firms.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate at least 10 years of experience including 5 years as head of Financial Control function in a significant size international business with demanding reporting and analysis requirements.
A previous experience in a FMCG business and manufacturing environment is very desirable, with a strong knowledge of emerging countries (Africa preferred).
