The successful candidate will have ideally a Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent. Post-grad with marketing focus or MBA are desirable. Candidate will be able to demonstrate successful track record in a similar project or a broad based FMCG business background in Africa as a General Manager, Business Development Manager or similar, and a minimum of 10 years experience in a branded multinational (Telecom, FMCG) in both Marketing & Sales roles with involvement in broad commercial issues.
Who we're looking for
The general manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Engage in strategic planning, including designing and implementing business initiatives for sustainable top-line growth.
- Encourage and enable teamwork across departments.
- Deploy high quality Managers through upgrading, training and hiring.
- Be responsible for Profit & Loss for the business, including Sales & Marketing, product development, manufacturing and accounting reporting integrity.
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with relevant government offices.

Our client, a leading company in the FMCG industry with business lines including soaps and detergents, toothpaste and other personal care products and food & beverage products, all manufactured under personal brands, is looking for a General Manager for its Nigerian subsidiary.
