Export Business Development Manager

The main purpose of your role as the Export Business Development Manager will be to maximise business opportunities within Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands by developing an understanding of different countries' markets, customers and shoppers; identifying and prioritising the opportunities and developing strategic partnerships with distributers/agents in order to achieve agreed turnover, volume and profit targets.

Key responsibilities will include :
• Develop and Implement an Export strategy that is aligned to the Division's OGSM targets
• Manage the Consumer Export business in West and Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands by ensuringthe partners with the right distributors and licensees
• Uses an understanding of each countries market, shoppers and customers to develop and implement Country Plans that will ensure achievement of set distribution, growth , innovation and profit targets
• Liaises with global supply chain colleagues in order to source appropriate products for each market
• To provide regular feedback and compile monthly reports and analyses of the total export business within Sub-Equatorial Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands
• Ensure adherence to all Export , Customer Division andpolicies and procedures, in particular the management and control of pricing and trading terms Lead and motivate the management teams ofDistributors / Licensees and continually provide coaching and guidance to assigned sales team personnel
• Keep up to date with Export strategies, procedures and legislation for countries we operate in.

Who we're looking for
To be considered for this role you must have the following :
• Bachelors degree or equivalent is required, preferably in Commerce.
• A minimum of 5 - 10 years experience which should include experience in selling and /or marketing functions within the FMCG environment.
• Knowledge of applicable trading blocks as well as different tax legislations within sub-Saharan Africa would be beneficial as would fluency in French and Portuguese.
• Must be able to develop and manage diverse relationships. Knowledge of exports, managing distributors and understanding of the different countries within Africa would be beneficial.
